I get it, all good things come to an end, but that doesn’t mean we can’t hurt behind it. Well, today I found out that something that was good for me is coming to an end. On Friday, April 19th, Urban South HTX in Houston, Texas, announced that they will be shutting down production and closing their doors effective immediately.
This was one of my favorite breweries, not just in general but overall. I mean, I was just there maybe two weeks ago. It was a colorful place, and the beers matched the vibes. They were known for their fruited sours, and although I am not normally a fan of that style of beer, I love theirs. There’s a part of me that is hoping that this is just a really bad April 19th fools’ joke, or someone was celebrating 4/20 a day and made a mistake but, I know it’s the truth. Urban South HTX, you are my favorite, and hopefully, you let me come and get some of those beers off of your hands before you empty out the taproom. Cheers!
