Houston, TX – I had a rare free weekday, and I wanted to do some day drinking, so I hit up Tejas Brewing. This was my first time visiting this version of the establishment, although I did go there before when it was Buffalo Bayou. There’s a lot to like about this brewery, so let’s get into it..
The Vibe/Brewery – This might be one of the most aesthetically pleasing breweries in the city of Houston. It’s a beautiful three-story building, with the first floor being the place for the brewing magic to be made, the second floor the restaurant and bar area, and the third floor being what will make my list of one of the best places to go on a date. There’s a lovely view of the city that makes for a really dope stop to drink a brew and relax.
The Bartenders – I am going to be honest. My favorite profession of people is bartenders, and the two I had at Tejas are prime example of why I love bartenders so much. I was on the 3rd floor and the 2nd floor, and both of them deserve a raise because they made my experience great.
The Brew – Now to the brew. The one thing a beautiful brewery and great bartenders can’t do is save the taste of the beer that’s on tap, but honestly, they didn’t have to. Was it the best beer I ever had? No, it wasn’t, but it was far from the worst. I had two brews that day, one being the Tejas Hazy and the other being the Tejas Clara. If you’re new here, we rate all brews on a scale of 1–5, with 5 being complete fire and 1 being poo water, so let’s rate these. The Tejas Hazy I am going to give a 3.2, and the Clara I am probably going to give the same, maybe a 3.4. So both are pretty solid brews.
Overall, this is a must-visit brewery if you’re in the H, so check them out and tell them I Drink Brew sent you, and they’ll be like, “Who?”
